Watch D.O.G.S.

We are excited about getting more dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other men involved! The impact of your involvement plays a significant role in our school achieving both our academic and behavior goals. Go DADS!

Dads, Grand-dads, Big Brothers, Uncles and Father Figures

We hope your student is having a really great school year!  Below we briefly outline a great way to participate in your student’s school experience AND at the same time help their friends and fellow students!  Of course we’re talking about our Watch DOG program.  Not only do all of our students enjoy the program, it provides a fantastic way to include YOU in their daily activities here at GES.  The purpose of Watch DOGS is very simple – To provide an adult male volunteer every school day possible.

A typical Watch DOG day includes, but is not limited to:
  • Help provide a safe school environment
  • Serve as a positive male role model
  • Recycling
  • Assisting in the lunchroom/at recess
  • Assist in the library
  • Reading to your student’s class
  • Helping with other daily school tasks

A suggested Schedule is available but is not mandatory. A typical Watch DOG day runs from 7:10 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.

The GES Watch DOG Program has an online registration that will allow you to select the day/date of your choice, send you a reminder, as well as allow you to change your volunteer date if necessary.   Normally, only one Watch DOG is necessary per school day, but occasionally, two men may sign up for same day due to a birthday or some other special reason – no problem, sometimes, more is better.  We would appreciate a forty-eight (48) hour minimum notice if you’re going to volunteer.  All volunteers MUST have a CURRENT (School Year 2017-2018) form on file at GES.
